Doodle Day Fun: Fantasy Autumn Leaves!
Taking Doodles From Drab to Delightful!
Come and join me, Laure, for some "doodle day fun!"
Can it be?! Is Autumn really here?!
Yes, it is and so are these colorful, fun leaves! It seems most of us are ready for Autumn and there are few subjects more fun than gorgeous fall leaves. The colors can be off-the-charts amazing or sublimely subtle, but spending an afternoon creating leaves, is for me, an afternoon well spent!
This class is called Fantasy Fall Leaves because when I planned this class and sourced out the leaves, it was still summer and everything was as green as green could be. That turned out to actually be a good thing as it freed me to use my imagination to create any color combination I wanted and to simply play!
We will be creating at least two of these leaves, possibly three, depending on questions and how much time they take.
In this class, you will learn about using an analogous color palette, how to use one color as a "bridge" to create harmonious colors and how to use opposites on the color wheel to create exciting vibrant colored leaves. We'll also work on lettering so we'll have a finished "postcard" ready to send to a friend!

Your Instructor

Laure Ferlita is an accomplished watercolorist residing in sunny Florida. Watercolors, nature, travel, painting on location, sketching for the joy of it, and most especially, color, are her passions!
Vibrant color can be found in almost any subject and its shadows. It is her joy to bring those colors to life on paper with some paint and a little water. For many years, Laure worked as a graphic designer, so you will most likely see a strong graphic element in her work.
She started sharing her joy and love of sketching on location over at ImaginaryTrips.com in 2009 and has helped many "travelers" to find their artistic voice since then.
“Watercolor, for me, is the perfect sketching medium." Laure says. “It provides ease of use, quick color saturation, and clean up is a snap and really, you don't need much equipment. After you move past the hype of how difficult watercolor can be, you find out how much fun it is to get out there and actually create on location. It's way too much fun!"
